This expressive piece captures a lush cluster of the Coreopsis flower, a rugged daisy that grows near the coast. In my painting, the flower blooms with rich hues of gold and crimson against a vivid coastal backdrop. Utilizing thick, textured impasto brushstrokes, the artwork brings the scene to life with tangible depth—from the swaying sea oats and sandy shore to the brilliant, multi-layered turquoise of the ocean waves under a breezy sky.
